My dear friend is facing a health scare and needs your support! On Saturday, June 28th she was taken to emergency by ambulance for severe back pain. After an x-ray and ultrasound, the doctor determined there was nothing more they could do for her. Despite the paramedics warning her of potential nerve damage, she was sent home with some strong pain medication and no further plan. She was told that she would eventually need an MRI but that the doctor could not order one for her until the pain got even worse and her situation was considered a "critical incident". The pain has been ongoing for quite some time and, as you can imagine, is impacting all aspects of her everyday life. This amazing human has been failed by our health system and deserves to feel supported by her community.

The goal is to raise some funds to help her pay for the ambulance fee, pay for some osteopathic or physiotherapy treatments, explore the option of a paying for an MRI privately, and to help supplement for the loss of income during this time. She is a very talented independent artist and has not able to work due to the pain, nor does she have health insurance to cover such additional costs. Furthermore, she is simply a truly inspiring, caring and compassionate human being. She takes such good care of others, but is not comfortable asking for help. Thus, to respect her privacy, I have not named her and have included a photo of her pal Nanuk, who is anxiously waiting for her to recover so that they can get back out on the trails together soon.
