SAVE A SOUL KUWAIT
Alissar in Kuwait saves dogs and cats and makes sure they are vetted and eventually finds homes for them. The life for a stray dog or cat in Kuwait is pretty hopeless.
She is currently assisting Mission K9 rescue with 40+ working dog that are being retired and headed for the USA in the coming months. 9 have already arrived and 7 are traveling the week of Jan 27th. This is a huge mission and it takes so much time and energy to organize such a mission. *See below for more information about this Mission.
She is also assisting Puppy Rescue Mission with 4 puppies found near the airbase in Kuwait that soldiers are adopting. These little ones were riddled with worms. They then got Parvo and miraculously have survived. They are tough little Kuwaiti Desert Dogs and oh so cute. Now they are waiting for all their vetting to be done and to get a titre test and paperwork organized for entry to the USA in about 4 months. Once again a huge task and many hours dedicated to caring for them. Dezzy, Habibi, Lilah & Lottie are so luck to have Alissar in their corner.
"Mission K9 Rescue was asked to take in 45 retired working dogs from Kuwait, bring them safely to the United States, provide medical care and rehabilitation, and ultimately find them loving homes. Making that possible requires an enormous amount of coordination and paperwork on both sides of the world, from exit clearances in Kuwait to import requirements in the United States. We could never have accomplished this without the incredible help of our friend Alissar from Save a Soul Kuwait. Out of pure kindness and compassion, Alissar went far above and beyond, handling mountains of paperwork, coordinating veterinary visits, preparing every dog for travel, and, along with one other dedicated volunteer (who we will discuss in a later post) personally getting the dogs to the airport, checked in, and safely on their way. With more dogs still to come, she continues to work tirelessly behind the scenes, giving her time, energy, and heart to help these heroes finally make it home.
Alissar does all of this while also running her own rescue in Kuwait, Save a Soul Kuwait, and like so many rescuers, she is struggling financially while putting every resource she has into saving lives. Because we could not have completed this mission without her, we want to give back by creating this fundraiser to support Alissar and her rescue. This is our way of saying thank you, helping ease the financial burden she carries, and shining a light on the incredible work being done for dogs in need in Kuwait."
