Hello my name is melissa .
I believe i am one of the most unusual cases of shingles you may ever hear of.
I am a survivor. I am a warrior. I am a soldier.
I am NOT a quitter.
At the beginning of this year 2024 i came down with a mild case of shingles on my head and face. Just a few blisters lots of itching went to the dr immediately and got meds for it. Then it disappeared. Within a week they were gone.
Still wasnt feeling right and went to pcp i told them that it had gone internal and they said no way and brushed me off.
As the next several months went by i was getting sicker and sicker . Went to dr over and over er after er after er
Test after test still im saying shingles internal they are brushing me off
I lost 30.lbs couldnt eat drink swallow sneeze cry .
Couldnt lift my head off my pillow. Couldnt go to bathroom or shower or even walk.
Still no answers because they wouldnt listen to me .
I know my body better than anyone. But healthcare today doesn't see us as people we are $ .
Needless to say at this point its going on 6 months now and on er said they found a brain aneurysm. So i go for or 2 nd opinion. And sure enough i do have one !!! Along with a spot in brain stem and a splenic aneurysm!!
Now here it is going on 8 months and i have been back to er more times than i can count . Im swollen from head to toe with no explanation and have been since my release of april 16 2024. I was 147 when i came home and am now 186. No relief in sight
On a brighter note when i seen my neurologist he informed me that the issue had resolved itself completely and my brain is beautiful!! What a blessing
Although he was very angry about my health because i was so swollen and my pcp wasnt doing anything to resolve the issue . So he called them himself.
Needless to say it is still unresolved. And i am still going thru it
The worst part of it all my 9 yr old great niece i have taken in to raise doesnt understand and worries every day if im going to be ok she has been so traumatized by the whole ordeal. That could have been avoided had my drs just listened to me.
Now im facing eviction from the only home she has known. And i cant even sweep a floor . I ve missed all this work . I am not asking for a free handout because im lazy or dint want to work. Anyone that knows me could tell you im NOT one to ask ANYONE for help. I orefer to do the wirk to get the reward. Theres more satisfaction in the end result when you KNOW yiu worked your butt off to get there.
I just need a kittle lead way so I can heal and become healthy enough yo stand again. Any help would be a true blessing at this point .
