On January 4th, Rochelle experienced a significant stroke affecting the right hemisphere of her brain (see below for a message she posted on the 14th). She has also been affected by the complication of a pulmonary embolism while in the hospital.

She has been in the hospital since the 4th, and while we all know she is strong, and a fighter, we also know that she will remain in the hospital and in inpatient rehab for weeks yet, as well as being in recovery for some time beyond that.

We also know that when she can, she will absolutely want to return to her home and her bed. And, we know that she will need some medical equipment when she transitions out of an inpatient setting. So, we've set up this fundraiser to help pay for both her household expenses while she is unable to work and the medical equipment she will need. All proceeds will go directly to her immediate family, who are taking care of these needs.

Message from Rochelle (1/14):

On the night of January 4th, while I was working out in the gym at my apartment building, I had a stroke caused by a blood clot that lodged in the right side of my brain.

I was fortunately taken to the hospital very soon after it happened, where I've had two surgeries and spent 6 days in the ICU. I am glad to now be progressing quickly in my recovery, though I know I still have a long road ahead of me, and will remain in the hospital and in rehab for some time yet. But if you know me, then you know I won't stop until I have climbed this mountain, too.

I am grateful for all the love and support that has already been shown, and I'm especially thankful to those who have come to hold my hand. I look forward to seeing, dancing with, and hiking with you all as soon as I can.
