Welcome to our book drive for Emma's Footprints! My name
is Anna, and I am a bonus aunt to two sweet girls who decided to grace
the world with their presence a few months early. :) Watching my
friend endure the trials and triumphs of the NICU from so far away was
difficult. I am so glad that Emma's Footprints was there to support my
friend during the girls' NICU stay! The care packages they put
together are so thoughtful. I am a consultant with Usborne Books &
More and wanted to help this wonderful organization fill those boxes
with our imaginative books! Thus, this book drive was created :)
Here is the story of Emma's Footprints, as told by Emma's
mother:
"Emma's Footprints was started in memory of our precious
Emma Rose who passed away on November 5th, 2014 at 23 days old due
to complications from a severe stroke she had in utero. Emma was
born on October 13th, 2014 along with her twin big brother Alexander.
Emma was airlifted from Porter Memorial hospital a week after
she was born and spent the last weeks of her life at Riley
Children's Hospital. During her stay there we were so overwhelmed by
the thoughtfulness of our friends and the community surrounding
Riley who brought us care packages that we knew we wanted to bring
the same comfort to other NICU families. We provide care packages
for NICU families, bereavement care packages, support families after
the loss of an infant, and work towards bringing awareness to both
premature birth and infant loss."
The funds we raise will go directly to purchasing high quality
and distinctive books from Usborne Books & More to include in
the NICU care packages created by Emma's Footprints.
Our team has set a goal of $2,500. With Usborne Books &
More's very generous 50% match for donations, that will be an
