Hi everyone. Please meet Athena, a 7 year old American Pit Bull Terrier who was abandoned by her people last July 1 at her forecolosed home.  Heather Lynne reached out to me, as I crosspost NYC's animals in need.  Athena's humans are having a baby, and what I did not know is that their home is being foreclosed.  Her owner did not want to take Athena along to the place they are moving to, so they told Heather Lynne, who is the sister in law of the owner, that they planned on leaving her in the home, for animal control to seize her.

But this fundraiser is a happy one, a glorious one for Athena, because we found her a very good home, where she will be cared for and loved. We just want to do this properly. We want to have her spayed, and update her shots. We are not sure if she's updated, but Heather Lynne says she doubts it. Athena was much neglected in her last year with her humans. Her nails are long, she was no longer walked.

To be honest, I was skeptical if they were really going to abandon her all alone in that house. How do you have a pet for 7 years, and just leave her there, with no one to care for her, and knowing Animal Control will come get her and she will be scared out of her wits ?  BUT THEY DID. 

Heather Lynne and her husband went to visit her again on July 2.  here is sweet Athena, so thankful for the kindness, for people caring. 

Athena is going upstate to live in a 10 acre home with another rescued staffie, with her new dad Michael.  Please help us give her a proper send off for this poor sweet and loving girl..  Any small amount will do.  It all adds up!
