My brother never thought he’d fight in a war. He is a history teacher and soccer coach in Odesa, Ukraine.
He loves working with children.He loves his students, and wants to protect them.So, despite multiple health issues, he enlisted, and is waiting to be deployed.
More than anything, I want him to come home alive and in one piece.And I want his comrades to come home alive and in one piece, too.
At first, I thought there was nothing I could do except donate money to various charities that help support and supply the Ukrainian army.And that’s what I did, except it felt really impersonal… and somehow not enough.
Meanwhile, my father and brother started volunteering for a grass roots organization in Odesa, Moto Health—a former biker club!Moto Health volunteers have a minibus and run supplies to various army detachments.They get direct requests from commanding officers for supplies that are needed the most, and fulfill those requests quickly and efficiently, with no “middle man” or red tape.
One of the most requested items is a basic drone with a camera.It allows Ukrainian soldiers to conduct reconnaissance more safely.Sending up a drone helps them assess the situation while staying under cover.Even the simplest drone made for kids will do, as long as the camera is in good working order!
The problem is, though, that even the simplest drones are really hard to find in Ukraine, and most companies won’t ship directly to Ukraine, either.
Well, that is exactly the type of challenge I love to sink my teeth into!
At first, I thought I could collect lightly used drones here, in the US, and send them to Ukraine. But the cost of shipping was going to be higher than buying them new!
After a bit of legwork, I figured out a solution--a fast, reliable, cost-effective way to buy drones in western Europe and then get them to my father and brother in Ukraine... My father and brother will pass the drones along to Moto Health, and from there, these mechanized "guardian angels" will join the fight and protect Ukraine's protectors.
My goal is to send 50 drones to help Ukraine’s defenders come home alive… my brother included!!!
The total cost for 50 drones, including shipping and various transaction fees is going to be 4,253 USD

The Ukrainian people are fighting a vastly unequal fight. They are outmatched in weaponry and numbers... in almost everything, except for courage, spirit, and skill!
