Our project was born out of pure passion and love for animals. We are a team couple, together we have been through many challenges and have always come out smiling and holding hands.

“Adapostul din Apartament” (The Shelter in the Apartment ) is our project which aims to help abandoned or in danger animals. It all started over an year ago when ASPA began to abusively catch and euthanize stray dogs, but even worse, also those with owners. Since then we have been though many steps and experiences, both good and bad. We have started by taking in our own little apartment the four legged street friends, strays, dogs who urgently needed help. Very soon we had the need to extend the space, so we came to an agreement with a foundation from the Netherlands, from which resulted the creation of a shelter with the capacity to hold 30 souls. Unfortunately the partnership with the Dutch foundation took an end in September. However this did not hold us back, throughout the time we have collaborated with many veterinaries and other rescuers so we could help as many animals who were in danger.

Throughout this year we took from the streets and public shelters 43 dogs, and with your help we have managed to save 34 of them, out of which 24 are are already integrated in their new families. Full details on our dogs you can find on the Facebook page or on our website, petsit.ro .

We would have never succeeded without your help, either financial or moral. Many of you helped us and the dogs when it was most needed, these acts encouraged us to go further. We will update a report with all the received donations as soon as possible.

PetSit.ro provides pet sitting services, tranning, socialization and pet walking, and along with our partners we want to develop a Canine Recuperation Center. To be more precise, we need space for the dog enclosures, a medical center for the recuperation of dogs with locomotion disabilities, a training ground for special disciplines and a playground.

At present we have a few places as options for the C.R.C. (Canine Recuperation Center) , but we do not have the financial possibility to rent and improve one of them. We need your help to raise the amount of 8000 euro needed to cover the rent for 10 months in advance, to clean up and disinfect the area, and to set up the first dog enclosures and fields. After we manage to launch the project we will apply for European funds, which will help us bring the western standards to our country, hoping that C.R.C. will thus become a positive example for those around us. We know that is a big number, that is the reason that we request your help! Without your help, our vision will remain a dream. We need your help to give these dogs the right place to be!

Without us these dogs are condemned to a life in public shelters, which barely gives them the right to live, but never the special treatments or enough food. And we need to bear in mind that in public shelters the chances to grow old are slight, and the chances of being adopted decrease due to the precarious conditions, either emotional of physical .

At this moment, in our country, the possibilities to medically rehabilitate a dog with locomotion issues are very limited and way to expensive – however the demand is huge given the enormous number of victims from accidents. Most of them will eventually be euthanized as the their recuperation is difficult, the cost too high and the possibility to take them to a specialized center is most often impossible.

The area we have found has around 4000 mp and has the location in Bucharest, which makes it a real advantage when we will manage the volunteers and logistics. This potential field is immensely, and if with your help our dream is to become reality . The dogs in Romania will have a new chance and maybe step by step we will put to shade the image of this country without respect to animals.

The potential of the are is great, and when our dream will become reality, the dogs around Romania will have better chances to a normal, happy and balanced life.
