As many of you already know Jenna has been having a hard year and a half. We really need your help to get sand wheels for her new wheelchair. Last January Jenna began swelling in her legs. The swelling is now beginning again and it is very painful. We have ruled out any cardiac conditions which is excellent. But last year Jenna was giving up and didn't want to walk anymore since it hurt so much. Jenna loves the water and she feels equal when she swims. It is also the only physical activity she can participate in that can assist her with shedding some pounds. Jenna has rapidly put on alot of weight and it is not because she eats a lot or eats poorly. She has begun the stages of puberty and it has been very hard for her. She has been denied PT services and the dr knows I keep her extremely active in the summer. The problem we face is I can no longer carry by daughter. Recently after a swimming lesson I tried to pick her up and I couldn't budge. I suffer a lot of back pain and pinched nerves. One of the hardest things for me recently is the fact that my daughter weighs 125 pounds and I can not help her like I used to. When we go to the beach there is only one sand wheelchair even in Jones Beach which is terrible. I found sand wheels that can be used in sand and snow. They can easily be taken on and off the chair so I can manage them. But after adjustments it will cost us about $3000.00. We pleaded for a payment plan but they do not offer one and insurance will never pay for them. I know it's a long shot but I am desperate to help my daughter and this investment will last forever. Jenna is getting an adult size wheelchair so the wheels will be hers for good.   I am saddened that I have to reach out to loved ones  because I never want to be a charity case. I always purchase whatever my daughter needs. The only other option I was given and the pediatrician feels the same way I do is medication. The nuero surgeon thinks an anti seizure  medication can help  but  it will make her cloudy and have a slow reaction. It will also give her headaches  and she is already getting them going through puberty.   I am desperate at this point so I'm hoping by June I  can raise some money .  This will help Jenna tremendously.
