Holly(aka) Karmen and her hound mix buddy Jack were brought in to shelter as strays in Ohio....we received a plea for help even though Jack wasnt a "Gentle Giant"we rescued him along with his Saintly sister. They were brought to Creature Comforts Animal Clinic inLancaster Ohio...We have worked with Dr Libby before and she is wonderful! She called with an update after the initial exam...Holly weighed 76 pounds covered in fleas and ticks with hair loss due to flea bite dermatitis...fatty cysts on her body with a concern for one on her right back leg..infected eyes and also suffers from dry eye...her teeth were broken cracked and ground down with infected gums and her right ear was oozing blood and pus and black ggok and she had a hematoma in her left ear due to untreated ear infections suspected ruptured ear drums but cold not even tell due to oozing in ears...also full of whip hookand roundworms..no lyme hw- Jack had fleas and ticks whip hook and tapeworms dirty ears but he had a mass on his gums that was oozing pus..They both were given medicated baths ears cleaned pain meds and antibiotics...we werevery worried about these two..they are estimated to be 8-10 years old Full blood panels showed nothing major alittle anemic elevated white counts from infections....Jack went downhill fast wouldnt eat ..once bloodwork cme bck he had surgery to remove 2 teeth and drain the abcess the smell in his mouth was horrible biopsy was sent out really thinking mouth cancer..Jack pssed away 4 days later His biopsy came back the day after he passed he had mouth cancer...Holly was devastated she howled for Jack fo days we had Jack cremated and his ashes are traveling with Holly...Holly had 8 teeth removed...a cyst on her shoulder removed and one on her rear leg removed biopsy sent out and it came back NOT CANCER...her eyes are cleared up but she will need salve/drops for the rest of her life for dry eye Her ears are no longer oozing and her eardrums are healing shes a sweet girl that is heading to us today 11/16...she will live out her life with one of our fosters that loves the senior saints Holly will have a Saint sister and a Saint brother and her life long pal Jacks ashes...please share their story and donate if you can....
