Domino Effect hasn't added a story.

The truck is one of the most important assets in rescuing and rehabilitating these horses. Every step of rehabilitating these horses requires the use of the truck. We rescue the horses with the truck. We pick up feed and hay weekly with the truck. And, most importantly, every horse is delivered to their new home with the truck.

This is the 5th time since last summer that the truck has broke down with a costly ticket to get it fixed and back on the road. Last summer we had the transmission rebuilt, in the fall we had the engine rebuilt. Since then the truck has been down several times, never running proper after the engine was rebuilt. Of course, most recently we were in an accident, leaving Bob to replace the whole front end and lastly the truck's engine is once again blown and the truck resides in Ocklawaha, Florida.

From the beginning, the mechanic told us that the truck just needed to be reprogramed to fit the adjustments that he made to the truck. He claimed we could bring it back and pay an additional 300+ dollars for his connection to reprogram the truck. As Bob had the opportunity to have his dad and his employees look at the truck, he was told that many things were not right about the mechanic's job.

We were scheduled to pick up 2 mares and a colt on Monday in Ocklawaha, Florida. The young lady's friend was a mechanic. Bob explained to her the problems that he was having with the truck and he scheduled an appointment for her friend to take a look.

The morning of our trip to Ocklawaha, Florida, we made a pit stop in Brooksville to check the oil. The oil gauge was showing 4 quarts low. Bob bought the oil and filled it back up. It didn't seem to be leaking, but he was frequently replacing the oil in the truck.

When Bob arrived to meet Charlie, Charlie began to investigate. The further he looked, the more he saw that the engine had been sabotaged by faulty parts and labor. He showed us one piece in particular that had been cracked. He said that this was typical for a shady mechanic to damage this piece to keep the customer coming back. After shedding light to the truth in this situation, the mechanic is now blaming the faulty work on the machine shop and the machine shop is blaming it on the mechanic, neither holding themselve liable for the faulty parts or service.

It was seen that there was oil in the radiator and on further investigation he was led to believe that the engine's block is cracked. On technical terms, this means the engine is blown.

We have a few options that we are looking at right now. One is a used engine with warranty for $800. Along with this expense comes transportation to get back up to Ocklawaha with the engine, gaskets, oil, and other parts needed during the engine transfer, and labor.

My mom, Marilyn Millard, has offered to donate the first $400 to help us cover with the expenses. With just recently putting money into recovering the truck from the accident, we are tapped of any extra funding.

Even though it is against my better judgement to start a fundraiser for the truck, we must remember that this is the most important tool to help the rescues. Without the truck, everything comes to a hault. So you see, I'd rather be asking for funds to help towards Diamond's cryptorchid surgery or just for feed and hay, but in reality this is a need that supersedes all others at the moment.

So I ask that you will forgive me for asking for your help, but this is not a matter that we can continue to ignore and wait for the money to come our way.

We need your assistance in rescuing the truck and rehabilitating it back to its natural state, so that we can put it back to work in saving these animals one day at a time!!!
