The number of rats here at Best Friend Rodent Rescue is at an all time low (that's a good thing). We have no major emergencies happening at the moment, HOWEVER, if an emergency did come about, we might not be able to help in the way we have in the past as we have NO funds. All personal funds have been exhausted in order to keep the rescue up and running. We also have a fairly large vet bill at the moment, that is continuing to grow. The bill consists of tumor removals, exams for swollen feet and respiratory problems etc., medicines for respiratory and other infections, neuters for aggression and the list goes on. We really need your help. There are a couple options if you are able to donate money: Utilizing this FundRazr (Fundraiser). It is linked directly to Best Friend Rodent Rescue's Paypal account. They are open Monday, Wednesday and Saturday, and can process your credit card and any amount you wish to donate to our account. Every little bit helps and the dollars all add up. If you would prefer to donate something other than money, we can always use the following items: Pellet litter, Carefresh bedding, Harlan Teklad rodent lab blocks, full size towels for pan liners, rattie toys and or nutritional treats. There are other ways you can help us also, it doesn’t have to be monetary! Do you have time on your hands? We can never have enough volunteers. The cleaner the cages, the healthier the rats stay. There are always rats that need more socialization also, so it’s not always just cleaning. You can spend time holding and playing with any rat here also. Then there’s always the need for Fosters and quarantine homes. Quarantine home should not have rats already, so if you have 3 weeks to watch and care for ratties and possibly have potential adopters (that don’t already have rats) come visit the rats at your place, we need you also!
