Hello, My name is Oscar, and I never imagined I would have
to ask for help like this, but today I am reaching out with hope for
my son and my family. In May, we were involved in a serious car
accident that changed our lives in an instant. My 12-year-old son,
Leonardo, suffered a fractured jaw and now requires surgery to recover
properly. Without the surgery, he risks ongoing pain and complications
that could affect his quality of life for years to come.
As if facing my son's medical needs were not difficult enough,
the accident also damaged our family vehicle. This vehicle is not just
transportation—it is our livelihood. I work as an Uber driver in
Guatemala, and my car is the primary source of income for my family.
In Guatemala, stable employment opportunities can be very
difficult to find, and driving allows me to provide food, housing,
school expenses, and basic necessities for my children. Since the
accident, I have been struggling not only with the medical costs but
also with the loss of income caused by being unable to use my vehicle
as before.
