Angela is a well-known and loved community organiser and creative healer based in London. She is a single mother of Pedro (15), and both were undocumented for many years. We want to ensure that they NEVER have to be in that situation again.
Since the COVID-19 outbreak, Angela has had to put herself at risk to access work in person, as a migrant domestic worker with no right to furlough. Angela and Pedro also have no recourse to public funds, which means they cannot apply for any kind of government financial support.
THE VISA
Every 2.5 years - always subject to change by the Home Office - Angela must apply and pay for her visa to stay in the UK with her son. Each time, Angela must pay out of pocket for lawyer fees and application fees. This process has been a battle each time, draining her emotionally, physically, mentally and FINANCIALLY.
As a community that has been benefitting from Angela's labour for many years, it is our duty to support her and prevent the trauma and injustice of deportation, that would have an irreversible impact on her and her son’s livelihood.

About Angela
Angela, aka The Bonita Chola , is an Indigenous descendant organizer, community healer, activist advocate and educator. She collaborates with womxn and children in underrepresented areas of London to produce and deliver healing arts and crafts workshops that are grounded in her indigenous culture and traditions; with the hope to pass knowledge, to heal from colonialism, to recover the herstory of womxn of colour and to reconnect with the past to project on the future. Her work brings together communities, artists and activists to explore issues of sexism, environmental crisis, multi-national exploitation, housing and welfare for refugees and migrants.
