Hello, my name is Vincent Velez. For the most part of my life I had been overweight. After losing a loved one who was very dear to me, I became depressed and began to binge eat. I did not care if I gained weight and did not care how I looked. I was ridiculed by family, friends, and strangers. At the age of 32 I met a person who unbeknownst to me at the time, would turn my life around. I was taught how to appreciate life again and to work on bettering myself. After feeling better emotionally I began to work on my health and physical fitness. I lost a ton of weight and I now feel better than ever and am more motivated than I have ever been. I want to share this experience with others who are overweight and are suffering.  My goal is to raise money to hold a weight loss promoted competition for the overweight and obese as our communities are plagued by unhealthy eating habits which lead to preventable disease and distress. The will be healthy foods to teach about nutrition and diet. There will be obstacle courses of varying difficulty. There is no one winner as this would defeat the purpose of a neutral environment set for a learning experience. Together we will succeed in getting ourselves healthy, happy, and fit! All contributors will receive a flyer will all pertinent details so they may attend and spectate or even join the events if they would like. The event will take place around 7.20.16.
