Cricket is a 3 month old cocker/doxie mix that was turned into the shelter after being hit by a car several days ago. When we heard about this poor pup, we rushed to the shelter to get him. After being looked at by Bakersfield Vet Hospital we discovered he had a broken pelvis among a few other issues and rushed him to VCA West Los Angeles.

We now know that because his bones have been broken so long there is nothing we can do for his rear leg but amputate it. In addition to removing his back leg the vet will be repairing a hernia and doing some neurological testing because of some concern about his bladder.

Please help Cricket and keep him in your thoughts as he goes through his surgery and learns to be a three-legged dog.
