Our hometown, Leyte and the rest of Eastern Visayas, was severely devastated by Typhoon Yolanda (Haiyan). More than a week after the biggest storm ever recorded made landfall in Region 8, people still need food, drinking water, and medicines.

Many people in the worst-hit areas have been displaced - their houses wiped out, roofs of houses blown away, many houses made inhabitable by the typhoon. Many of our relatives lost their homes. They need safe shelter.

We humbly ask you to help us REBUILD our houses and our homes through this fundraising initiative.

Funds raised will be distributed to the Vergara (1 family, in V&G), Sequito (4 families in Downtown Tacloban, 2 families in Dagami, Leyte), and Guy-Uyco (4 families in Talinhugon, Dagami, Leyte, 1 family in V&G) families. Most of the funds will be given to the families in Dagami who lost everything.

However, if you wish to donate to a general charity, you can go to the following organizations/institutions:

a. Habitat for Humanity ->

b. Philippine Red Cross - choose the Supertyphoon Yolanda (Haiyan) campaign ->

c. Bangon Region 8 initiative by Philippine Science High School - Eastern Visayas Campus (PSHS-EVC) alumni ->
 am an alumna of this institution. Our current director graciously opened our school to evacuees - it now houses more than 1500 people in its rooms and corridors. Teachers, students, and alumni have contributed to the relief efforts being done in the area. Here is a feature from BBC on said school -

d. iTunes or Facebook - they have links for donations

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you!
