Hi friends and family,
As most of you know, I am currently a sophomore in high school in Dover, NH. I love my school, friends, family, and town so much. I have grown used to the everyday routine, and I feel completely safe and comfortable with where I am at. However, over the last few years, traveling has taught me to embrace the unknown, a feeling I now crave. My brother, Jack, studied abroad his junior year of high school in France, and after a lot of thought, I have decided I want to do the same, except in Portugal. This is an opportunity of a lifetime and I have learned, through my adventures so far, that traveling is truly a life-changing experience in so many different ways. I learned so much when I visited my brother in France as well as when I went to Spain, Italy, Canada, and London. I discovered different cultures, observed new traditions, and learned about how the world outside of the one I grew up in works. I am truly excited to be completely immersed in a different country and culture - to learn a new language and to navigate life with a new family on my own for a year.
I am so grateful that I have the opportunity to study abroad at my age, and for a supportive family that genuinely supports me. I am drawn to this experience because it will allow me to unlock parts of myself that I cannot access otherwise. This experience will shift my perspective and foster growth in ways I have yet to realize.
I am asking for donations to help me in my journey during my year abroad from home. These donations will go towards my school year away, including food, local travel and adventures, supplies, and cultural experiences. On my own, I aim to save $1,000 by September 2026 by budgeting $100 each month from my job. I am so grateful for this opportunity that is being given to me and I am so excited for what is to come. I am profoundly thankful for your support and look forward to sharing updates on my journey with you.
