A Home in Need: Helping My Mom Find Safety and Peace Again

My name is David, and I want to share the story of my mom’s home a place that should be her sanctuary, her safe space, but that has recently become a source of stress, worry, and danger. I am reaching out to all kind hearted people because we need help to restore her apartment and bring it back to a safe and livable condition.

A few months ago, my mom’s apartment was supposed to be improved through renovation work. What should have been a simple upgrade turned into a nightmare. The contractors who were hired to renovate performed the work very poorly. The consequences are serious: the electrical wiring inside the walls was almost completely destroyed, leaving many wall sockets unusable. Simple tasks like plugging in a lamp, charging a phone, or using kitchen appliances became impossible. The damage is not just cosmetic it is a danger to my mom’s safety. Every day she lives with the risk of electrical hazards, and it has created constant worry for both of us.

A little background about us. I currently work for a football club, dedicating much of my energy and time to my job. On top of that, I am pursuing education in digital marketing, hoping to build a stable future for myself and eventually help my family more effectively. Despite my efforts and full commitment, I am unable to cover the full cost of repairing the apartment.

My mom’s situation adds another layer of urgency. She is severely ill and cannot work, relying entirely on a very small amount of social assistance to cover her daily needs. For her, and for our family, the cost of repairing the apartment is overwhelming, it is something we cannot handle on our own.
