FOR COMPLETING AN EXCEPTIONAL JOURNEY ALONG THE AMAZON RIVER — FROM THE DELTA TO ITS SOURCE 🌊🗺️🧭
More than 6,000 km through dense jungles and high mountains. A journey very few have done. I now have just the final stretch ahead of me: around 600 kilometres across high passes, followed by a ten-day trek to Lake Carhuacocha in the Andes of Peru, at over 4,000 metres above sea level. The journey has to be completed before mid-January 2026.
WOULD YOU LIKE TO HELP ME TO ACHIEVE IT?
MY LITTLE
BIRTHDAY FUNDRAISER IS HERE JUST FOR THAT ☺️ 🎇
If you would like to give me an early birthday gift for my birthday on 16 February, you would allow me to complete a long and special journey that is already deeply underway.🌊
No amount is too small or too large.
Would you treat me to
a coffee? Put that coin here instead.
Would you invite me for
dinner? Or buy me a diamond?
Same story!
THANK YOU 🙏🏻

MY JOURNEY
In February 2025, just days after my last birthday, I joined the Infinity Expedition in Mexico, bound to sail with them to Brazil and head further upstream into the Amazon River. But things took a different course, and what already sounded like a great adventure grew far beyond my expectations. After reaching the Amazon River delta, we parted ways with Infinity, and I decided to continue what I had come here for anyway — and headed upstream the Amazon River on my own.
I saw on the map that it was possible to navigate the river all the way to Iquitos in Peru, and the idea that you could cross the whole of Brazil (and it is a big country) by boat fascinated me. Equipped with a huge amount of luggage — everything from offshore sailing gear to Antarctica equipment (in case I would have got a job there), and of course all I thought I might need in the Amazon rainforest (half of it wrong) — I started the voyage. How little I knew.
Like a Victorian-style traveller, as one friend named me, equipped with sometimes fantasy-based maps and incomplete information formed by tales as much as reality — and, of course, a huge amount of ridiculous stuff — I headed into the unknown. Yes, there are still parts of the world where correct information is not always found on the internets.
Around 5,900 km further upstream, five and a half months and myriads of stories later, my life is still entangled with the incredible Amazon River, which was actually navigable another 400 km further upstream than I had assumed. The rainforest meanwhile became my home and grew into my heart, and I now know I have to do all I can to share its message. For now, I understand that the environmental importance of the Amazon — something we surely all hear about at least once — is still highly underrated.
I am travelling a voyage that very few people have done. At least, I have not met anyone, and I have found hardly anyone online who has gone all the way from the delta to the source of the world’s largest river. What lies ahead is the final stretch: around 600 kilometres across high mountain passes, followed by a ten-day trek to the river source.
And I have run into a financial wall….
I DON’T WANT TO GIVE UP.
I want to complete this voyage, as I believe that achieving something so unusual will help me share its message and raise awareness of the incredibly beautiful and powerful nature we still have on this planet — and that we must do absolutely everything to protect.🌿🪻🌳🌌
🌠ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
WHY I’M ASKING FOR SUPPORT 💶
I am travelling independently. I am not sponsored, and I am not
backed by any organisation. Originally, I had planned to spend most
of this year as volunteer crew on the Infinity Expedition. That plan
would have meant travelling from February to November without
personal expenses. Instead, from June onward, I have been travelling
solo along the Amazon River.
This change of plans made the journey far more adventurous — and
also far more costly than originally budgeted. Travel,
accommodation, food, transport in remote areas, and basic logistical
needs all add up, and reaching the source of the river depends on
covering these costs now. There is also a clear time constraint.
By mid-January, continuing will no longer be possible.
SHARING THE VOYAGE 🌅
After completing this journey, I really hope to share the
experience through public talks, interviews, and discussions. The
voyage offers a rare perspective on travelling the Amazon slowly,
independently, and in close contact with local communities and
nature. I am open to invitations and can present in both English and
Czech.

AMAZON RIVER FACTS🗺️
Please note that many basic facts about the Amazon River have
been under — sometimes heated — dispute for centuries. For
example:
Where exactly is its source?
How long is the
river?
Is the Nile really longer than the Amazon?
The information used in the text above is based on some of the commonly accepted facts, although they are not agreed upon by everyone.
