Help a 54-Year-Old Woman Fight Cervical Cancer — We Need Your Support
We are raising funds for a 54-year-old woman from Bolivia who has just been diagnosed with cervical cancer. For years, she attended her regular annual medical check-ups, always trusting the system and believing she was healthy. Unfortunately, despite these routine exams, the cancer was never detected until very recently — only after she began experiencing intense pain a few weeks before her next annual check-up.
In Bolivia, public healthcare is supposed to cover cancer treatment, but the reality is very different. Even in “free” hospitals, families must pay for everything:
- medications,
- tests,
- surgical supplies,
- anesthesia,
- radiotherapy items,
- and even basic materials like alcohol, gauze, and syringes.
Nothing is truly covered when it is needed most.
Her doctors have explained that she urgently needs a full treatment plan, which includes:
- surgery,
- pathology studies,
- follow-up exams,
- potential radiotherapy or chemotherapy,
- and continuous medication.
The estimated cost for completing her treatment in Bolivia is around 25,000 € , especially given how much must be purchased privately.

Estamos recaudando fondos para una mujer boliviana de 54 años que acaba de ser diagnosticada con cáncer de cuello uterino. Durante años asistió puntualmente a sus chequeos médicos anuales, confiando en el sistema y creyendo que estaba sana. Lamentablemente, a pesar de esos exámenes de rutina, el cáncer nunca fue detectado hasta hace muy poco — solo después de que comenzó a experimentar un dolor intenso unas semanas antes de su siguiente chequeo anual.
En Bolivia, la atención pública supuestamente cubre el tratamiento del cáncer, pero la realidad es muy diferente. Incluso en los hospitales “gratuitos”, las familias deben pagar absolutamente todo:
- medicamentos,
- análisis,
- insumos quirúrgicos,
- anestesia,
- materiales para radioterapia,
- e incluso artículos básicos como alcohol, gasas y jeringas.
Nada está realmente cubierto cuando más se necesita.
Los médicos han indicado que ella necesita con urgencia un tratamiento completo que incluye:
- cirugía,
- estudios de anatomía patológica,
- exámenes de seguimiento,
- posible radioterapia o quimioterapia,
- y medicación continua.
El costo estimado para completar su tratamiento en Bolivia es de aproximadamente 25.000 €, especialmente porque la mayoría de los insumos deben comprarse de forma particular.
