Canada's Federal Government made changes to the mortgage rules in late 2016 which make it harder for Canadians to get a mortgage. We want to raise funds to build a social media marketing campaign to educate Canadians about these changes & roll them back.

My name is Michael Lloyd; I am a Mortgage Broker for over 20 years and have been in lending since 1988.  In that time I have helped hundreds of families buy their first home as well as how to pay down and payoff their mortgages.

In January this year I was invited to be an expert witness to the House of Commons finance committee discussing the Canadian Mortgage Market as well as the recently introduced changes made by the Federal Government and their impact.  Despite my testimony & the testimony of virtually all of the other witnesses being against these changes, the Government left all of them in place.  These rules not only make it much harder for the average Canadian family to buy their first home, it also makes it harder to refinance their home, and gives the Big Banks an unfair advantage in the mortgage market.

We believe we need to do two things to get the Government to listen.  First, we need to educate the public of these changes and how unfair they are.  Second, with that information the Canadian public needs to let their elected representatives know they are not in favour of these changes.

Watch our idea video here.  We propose to make several short videos that deal with one point only, make them humorous so they will be shared, and make it easy for the public to advise their MP they are not in favour.

We need your help to raise the funds for this initiative.

With 4, 5 or 6 videos that people actively share we can easily get the numbers required for the Government to listen.  Your funds will go to video production, social media campaign planning and ad purchases.
