Hello Lionel Burt friends,

We are asking for your financial support in raising $750.

With Lionel's recent passing, we have received the blessings of Adam Burt, his son, to move forward with installing a Memorial Bench for Lionel at Ocean Park near the tennis courts in Santa Monica. The City has already given us the green light for the project!

These courts are where Lionel spent so much time with his friends, playing tennis, having "quality talks" and even inventing a new double handled tennis racquet ( that is now officially displayed in the International Tennis Hall of Fame in Rhode Island, USA.

Lionel was passionate about tennis. He became locally famous for his "hour after hour" endurance hitting tennis balls with friends and students!

Lionel was also an ardent advocate for  "TRUTH and LOVE."

He was not only an inventor of "things," such as tennis racquets (he had many inventions); he seemed to be continuously contemplating the deeper meaning of life itself and was always advocating more Truthful and Loving ways to live, and play..... and communicate with others.

In fact, he wrote a few books on what he termed "Quality Talk," a way of speaking with love, integrity and accuracy. Lionel felt the world would be a better place if everyone communicated more effectively!

On many days during the week, Lionel could be found at Ocean Park, either on the tennis court, or sitting on a bench nearby....either contemplating new inventions that help people "do things better" or sharing a "Quality Talk" session with a friend.

We all know Lionel was a "maverick," and could be very stubborn in his views! But all who truly knew him also knew that he had a heart of gold and one of the sharpest minds around...always searching for practical "better ways" to live and play and communicate.

Please join us in honoring Lionel's loving memory by giving a donation for this Memorial Bench.

Thank you,

Jim Martineau, Ken Cohen, Adam Burt
