My name is Jane and I am a single mom of 2. I am starting a moblie bakery called Sugar Mama's. I have worked my entire adult life in the bakery industry and fully enjoy helping others celebrate special occasions.When people ask me how I learned to decorate and bake I have always replied without much thought that I am self taught. While this is mostly true, I actually learned about baking from my mom. Her mother was a baker in a small town diner in the 1930's and passed on the art of making food simply delicious. Spending time with my mom in the kitchen I watched her make noodles and pie crust and cookies from scratch. It was also in the same kitchen that I learned to decorate by starting with cookies we made every holiday and gave to friends.  If my mom was still alive I know she would be proud of me working on having my own business as she had an entreprenurial spirit herself. She would be my biggest cheerleader I am sure.

I want to offer customers a delicious wholesome treat. I believe in hand made and good, fresh ingredients.

Funds would be used to purchase a trailer I have already found that is currently outfitted for a bakery, as well as paying vendor fees, permits, license and ingredients. 
 I currently work full time and my beginning goal is to continue my job and start the bakery off working street fairs and festivals this summer selling primarily individual gourmet cupcakes. My summer festival flavors would include Classic Margarita, Strawberry Margarita, Orange Dreamsicle, Bombpop, Death By Chocolate, Tropical Delight and Classic Wedding Cake.

I am excited for this venture and look forward to offering these baked goods in the community. As a way of giving back I plan to donate time and goods by offering a high tea to a local retirement home on regular basis as well as working with a local program that gives cake decorators an apportunity to donate birthday cakes to children who are staying in local shelters. 

I feel life is a celebration wherever we are and it is important to take the opportunity to help others celebrate whenever we can.
