This cute English Bulldog just came to American Bulldog Rescue from a shelter in southern Maryland. Double Wide has double cherry eye and an elongated soft palate that needs to be repaired. Like many other dogs who enter our rescue, he is unaltered, so he needs to be fixed as well. (Please spay & neuter your dogs and don't add to the problem of homeless dogs!) All told, his surgeries and care can cost upwards of $1200.
Double Wide is staying at a kennel until his surgeries but one of our volunteers went to play with him yesterday and said he's a super sweet guy with lots of energy. It was a pretty hot day in Maryland and English Bulldogs are known for short spurts of energy then tuckering out. This guy wanted to keep going!. The volunteer had a difficult time getting good pics because Double Wide was so happy to be running around and playing.
He seems to have such a zest for life and we are fortunate to have the opportunity to get him feeling any better so that nothing is holding him back!
