ARF currently has 4 Heartworm positive dogs in our rescue. Unfortunately Heartworm is at an all time high and more times than not, dogs we are saving from kill shelters turn up positive. Treatment for these dogs is very expensive and foster care is a longer term as they recover.

Please consider making a donation to help us offset these costs which will allow us to continue to help dogs that are Heartworm positive. One of our HW+ dogs was lucky enough to have the funds raised via the kill shelter he was in and they passed those donations on to ARF for rescuing him. But the other 3, Sissy, Buster and Lolli need your help!

Sissy is an adorable Yorkie mix, sweet little girl, scared to death at the pound she was lucky that a kind volunteer got her out of there and took her home to temporarily foster until a no kill rescue such as ARF could take her in.

Buster is a handsome Beagle/Basset mix that has not had the best life so we were not surprised to find him to be Heartworm positive. He would love nothing more than to find an understanding forever home once he's finished with his treatments and ready to go home.

Lolli is a beautiful golden/lab mix that came in with 6 puppies from TX. She and her puppies had been living outdoors fending for themselves. Apparently she had many litters under those conditions and none ever survived. She is a loving girl and deserves so much better. ARF has given her just that.
