Hello Visitor!
I'm The_Pretender, but most call me Pret. I'm the host of the
(surprisingly) growing Pretender CobbleVerse Minecraft Server! What
started as a small group of friends has suddenly grown to the point of
having over 20 members!
Now here's the issue; while it is GREAT to have so many players,
we have recently ran into the issue of hardware. You see, I am running
the server off of my old Desktop PC from about 5 years ago. As of
right now, it's fine for solo gaming and a small server, but it was
NOT built for the heavy duty things like a heavily modded minecraft
server. This has shown it self in the form of constant freezing and
crashes when 5+ people are in the server at the same time, or even if
one person is far away from everyone else.
Therefore, I am asking for help from fellow members or any other
visitors. With increased prices of RAM (thanks AI) it's become much
more difficult to justify upgrading the rig on my own. There are some
minor goals to be reached in order to minimize any lags or crashes,
but to completely eradicate the issue, a major overhaul would have to
be made. Hence, this fundraiser.
TLDR: In order to stop the server from freezing/crashing while
everyone is playing, these are the following hardware upgrades that
need to be made:
- New CPU $150
- New RAM $370
- New
Motherboard $110
- Storage Drive -$130
Right now, I'm only
asking for help upgrading the RAM, as that is the major cause of the
lag when multiple players are online. I plan to take care of a couple
of these components myself over time, but I figured maybe together
everyone could be generous enough to support a couple purchases.
*Just to be clear, being in the server is FREE, and you WILL be
rewarded for ANY contributions you may make. I also plan to host more
servers in the future, and not just for Minecraft! So, stick around
