Hi, my name is Eve! I'm a 4th year medical student in Tasmania, Australia. One day, I hope to work in gender-affirming care, helping other trans people like me get the life-saving care they need - and providing a unique perspective as a trans doctor! I'm currently here raising money for my own bottom surgery.

I started medical school before my transition when I was 17. I moved away from home to study, and lived exclusively on my academic scholarship. As a first-generation medical student, my family was (and is) extremely proud, although they are unable to financially support me in my transition.

Half-way through my first year in medicine, I met my wonderful partner Chloe (pictured above!), and with (a lot of) her help, found the courage to come out as a transgender woman. My family was surprised at first, but they quickly accepted me as their daughter.

Now I'm 21, and have been living as my true self for over three years, having been on HRT for over two. While I've made huge progress in becoming the best version of myself I can be, I still suffer from extremely distressing bottom dysphoria. Unfortunately, in Australia, the surgery that would alleviate my distress is not covered by any insurance, public or private, and is prohibitively expensive - especially for a full-time medical student with no time to work.

That's why I'm asking for any help you can offer. Receiving this surgery would be life-changing for myself, and I aim to spend the rest of my life giving my future patients the same life-changing care.
