Hello, my name is Michiyo Oosterwijk. I have been serving the
Lord faithfully for over 30 years as a missionary and translator. I
am a Japanese national, and throughout my journey in faith, I have
seen the power of God’s Word transform countless lives, including my own.
Over the years, I’ve been blessed to serve in various
countries, such as Ghana, South Africa, Slovenia, and Croatia,
sharing the message of salvation and hope. While working in these
places, I had the opportunity to see firsthand the spiritual hunger
that exists not only in developing nations but also in my own
homeland, Japan.
A few years ago, I came across the message of Brother William
Branham, a prophet who was called to restore the true teachings of
the Bible in these End Times. His messages deeply touched my heart
and gave me a clearer understanding of the scriptures. With the
encouragement of Brother Branham’s teachings and the support of
other ministers, I began comparing the King James Version (KJV) with
the existing Japanese translations. To my surprise, I discovered
that many key verses were either missing or mistranslated in the
Japanese versions, altering the original meaning of God’s Word.
This realization burdened my heart, but it wasn’t until
recently that I felt the Lord’s timing to start this project. I was
visited by some brothers from China, who shared their own testimony
of translating the Bible into Chinese from the KJV. Despite facing
severe persecution and being caught by the government for
distributing these Bibles, they remained strong in their faith.
Their courage and unwavering commitment to bringing the true Word of
God to their people deeply inspired me. Seeing their dedication,
even in the face of such adversity, made me realize that now is the
time to begin the Japanese translation project.
With much prayer and faith, I decided to take on the challenge
of translating the entire King James Version Bible into Japanese,
starting with the books of Revelation, Genesis, and 1 John.
This project is not just about translating words—it’s about
restoring the true message of the scriptures to my people, so they
can experience the same depth and power of God’s Word that has
changed my life. I want to ensure that Japanese readers have access
to a translation that reflects the original context and meaning of
the Bible.
However, this project requires a significant amount of time,
dedication, and resources. I am stepping out in faith, trusting the
Lord to provide the necessary support to complete this translation.
