I'm fighting the illegal grab at taxpayers hard-earned money by CRA that has put me and a lot of other into poverty regarding CERB and CRB benefits.

I am one of the many people who applied during Covid, unfortunately, I like many also am being told I have to pay taxes on it now, only I've found that CRA and the Federal Government altered the legislation regarding the benefits at least 4 times, just to steal money out of hard working Canadians pockets. Yet at the same time, companies that were insolvent(as in out of business prior to Covid) got over $15.5 Billion of taxpayers money, and aren't being made to repay that money to taxpayers.  Each time that this legislation has changed, its been applied retoracticely so even if you were approved and not taxed previously, you are now. 

This is completely unfair and violates the Charter of Rughts and Freedoms, the Canadian Constitution, the Taxpayers Bill of Rights and the Fair and Equal taxation laws, among others.

As someone who has done taxes for 30 years, for myself, family and on a volunteer basis for charities, to find out the Government thinks Canadians are so stupid they won't question whether they owe taxes or not, just cus the government says so.

While some people do owe taxes or shouldn't have gotten the benefits at all, those of us who did are suffering now and are worse off had we not gotten any Covid benefits at all. 

I have lost housing and am behind in my bills cus I can't get ahead of the debts due to loss of tax refunds and benefits, I havent had a GST in 4+ years, and I know of others who haven't either.  Worse still, my 73 year old disabled mother, who never even applied for the benefits(and had her CPP/OAS taken anyway) is now being told she has to repay $36,000 in taxes, and she doesn't get that much in income per YEAR. Her's is not the only case where our seniors have been railroaded.

I am launching this fundraiser to pay for the costs to take the government to court, and the government doesn't make it cheap!! In order to file, you need FIVE(5) copies of every piece of legislation, tax code and court case you are relying on to support your case, and I'm already at over 700 PAGES that need to be copied FIVE TIMES.

Your support would mean every Canadian who has been railroaded due to this issue, can have their voice heard and send a message to Trudeau that our tax dollars are not a blank cheque for the government to steal our money.

I'm taking this fight on so all Canadians can have a chance to get their hard earned money back and send a serious message to Ottawa to not play games with our money.
