Tom was a man of strong moral values and always put his family first. His sudden loss has left a void that can never be filled in everyone who loved him - particularly for his children, Vito, Talia, Dominic and Vincent. He was a beloved father, husband, son, uncle, cousin, friend and role model. And now, we are all faced with the difficult reality of moving forward in life without him.

Vito and Talia are young adults, just beginning their paths in life -- attending college, finding love, having new and exciting life experiences -- without their father's guidance and support.

Dominic and Vincent are in their senior year of high school -- a pivotal time when they are receiving college acceptance letters, celebrating their achievements and enjoying time with friends before they enter the next big chapter of their lives -- without their father there to cheer them on.

And I must find and exhibit courage and strength for them all -- replacing sorrow and sadness with love and light, tending to my own broken heart, navigating an uncertain future -- all without my love and best friend.

Yearly in-state college tuition is just under $20,000. Multiply that by 4 and the cost becomes exorbitant for a newly single mother.
