It´s a fabulous chicken walker with 28 points of articulation
that reaches 29 and a half inches height in neutral position, being
the most stable of its kind ever created. That awesome stability was
attained by taking care of the Z-axis articulations that were
ignored in previous builds.
100% support free 3d printing!
every piece fits on an Ender 3!
As each and every one of my mech designs, it features a tolerance proof articulation system, which means that everything works perfectly regardless of printer tolerances. Each articulation is "tunable" which means you can adjust the tension at any time making them tighter or looser.
I designed it with a focus on your 3D printing and assembly
experience, to make sure you enjoy it as much as I did. That’s also
why the file comes along with a 3D printing settings guide and an
assembly video guide, so you hit it off right from the start and
have an easy way through the building process.
Inside the package you also get a folder with improved control
panels and seats to print in resin for even more screen accuracy.
Here’s what you need to know about the campaign. There are two contributing options:
- The USD 50 end-user version, if you’re printing it just for yourself.
- The USD 100 seller version, which includes my consent to print and sell as many copies as you want.
We surpassed our goal so you get the files as soon as you contribute!
Prices remain the same for 60 days. After that, the campaign remains open indefinitely as an online store and newcomers get the files as soon as they contribute, but at a higher price.
Files will be sent to the email adress in your paypal
account. If you want to recieve in another adress, please let me
know.

THE BACKGROUND:
Three years ago, in a country far far away in South America, a 3D designer had a crazy idea: to create a 1:12-scale articulated Chicken Walker and 3D print it.
Prior to this lunacy, he felt beaten by multiple chicken walker toys throughout the years due to their instability. One of them proved to be especially disheartening when its legs could not even hold still. Thus, the enthusiast decided to call a halt to the treacherous beasts and adopt a hands-on approach.
This was the beginning of his venturing the studies of the imperial-vehicle structure. So engrossed he got, that without noticing he became obsessed. His thorough research allowed him to find the blueprints to build the original puppet from the first trilogy, which revealed two articulations in each leg that had never been included in any toy. The venturer judged them critical for the foot to properly adapt to the floor.
As if the undertaking was not intricate enough, the 3D designer was captured by a new inspiration that emanated from the black-series figures in his desk. That was how his highly stable Chicken Walker would suddenly have to fit those 6-inch toys in the cockpit, which involved designing a special kind of hinge for the articulations to support the weight of the canopy, and conceiving a system in which the screw pressure didn’t hurt the beast’s parts, mobility, and stability. To add an extra defiance to the endeavor, the designer’s 3D printer was pitiful and smaller than an Ender 3, which led to the additional challenge of making the prints fit in the modest device.
Rehearsal prints befell and subsequent ones followed. His workshop, which was also his home, was eventually filled with large Chicken Walker prints. As a result, the designer’s wife began to feel a lack of space. In spite of her keeping it to herself to not hinder her spouse from achieving the astounding beast, uneasiness gradually took over her as she gave up more and more home space. In between prints, the builder devised a solution to protect her well-being and carry on with his project: the construction of a larger house. That was how she came to be in charge of a construction project, which is still ongoing, while he made progress to attain an unseen all-terrain-scout transport.
Months of hard work with multiple designs, prints, and tests delivered a highly stable and articulated vehicle for his 6-inch action figures. And now you shall read what that individual has to say about that.
THE RESULTING WALKER:
Yes, that lunatic 3D designer was me, RenderBoy3d. I feel fortunate to have achieved this magnificent beast and now I want to share it with you guys, so you can enjoy it as much as I did.
Way before the final version was ready, I published the beta-stage pics, which were taken in my backyard and were pretty amateur. Those rooky photos in social media got likes by lots of people, including this one guy who came out the blue asking when I was going to release the chicken walker. After that, whenever I published other 3D printable designs, this guy would reach out and ask me when the Chicken Walker would be out.
Only later I found out that the insistent fellow was a legendary professional customizer and also a professional photographer. After hitting it off with this Nathan Kzouch guy, I decided to send him the beta version for him to test it. This turned out way better than I could ever dream of, since Nathan gave me invaluable feedback for the in-progress beast and I was able to improve it and achieve its final version based on his professional and demanding insights.
That’s all guys. Thank you in advance for joining in and I wish
you have an awesome time building this fully articulated Chicken
Walker for your 6 inch figures!
