Your $1 or £1 or more is much appreciated. Hi all, hopefully some of you might be able to help. I am needing to raise some money to start treatment to help Mahir he is 13 year old disabled and wihout a school placement in London. Mahir has been diagnosed with cerebral palsy Congenital Rubella with global damage which affects ARMS LEG POSTURE SPEECH MOBILITY LEARNING DIFFICULTY etc, all the goodness of independance we take for granted
Mahir is restricted by his disability. Mahir is always dependant on others for his everyday living needs. Mahir is a intelligent and very sociable and active boy, he communicates using a ipad typetalk British sign language and also lip reading. Mahir loves swiming, wheelchair football, and other outdoor activities. Mahir desires to be independant but his disability restricts it, his dream is to drive a cars and fly an aeroplane.
Although at this stage it may not ever happen but by pure chance using STEM CELL THERAPY a new road map could emerge and his mobility could improve, thus giving him a chance to live with a tiny amount of inependance. Looking back to the first day he was born, we never thought that we would reach this far with Mahir, but mahir has shown huge improvements since the diagnosis. We ask for help in kind donations, any excess funds will be used childrens in similar conditions. Thank you for taking the time to read this, I understand you must get asked a lot for help – even it just results from one more contact – we are very grateful.
Diagnoses: I. Bilateral motor disorder (lower limbs affected more than upper limbs) with spasticity (GMFCS equivalent).
2. Moderate to severe mixed hearing loss (aided). 3. Learning difficulties (supported by Statement of SEN). 4. No definitive unifying diagnosis, but congenital rubella infection considered to be the most likely cause of Mahir's presentation. MRI head (May 2004 Royal Free Hospital): There is symmetrical compliment T2 high signal in the periventicular white matter around the lateral ventricles involving all lobes of the cerebrum. In addition there is patchy increased T2 signal in the intermediate and superficial white matter mostly in the parietal lobes with small areas of increased signal in the posterior frontal and temporal occipital regions. There is no cavitation within the brain substance. Myelination is slightly delayed in the anterior temporal and the frontal lobes on T2 weighted images. The ventricles next to cerebral spaces are of normal size. No abnormality demonstrated in the brain stem, cerebellum, basal ganglia or inner ears, the 8th nerves are of normal size. Conclusion: Extensive signal abnormality in the cerebral white matter consisting with gliosis due to known congenital rubella. Stem Cell Treatment for Cerebral Palsy It is understood that the vast majority of cerebral palsy cases are congenital, coming at or about the time of birth, and/or are diagnosed at a very young age. It can be defined as a central motor dysfunction affecting muscle tone, posture and movement resulting from a permanent, non-progressive defect or lesion of the immature brain. The aim of our treatment is to regenerate the damaged neurons by using stem cell transplantation. To do so, stem cells are injected in great quantity through IVs and lumbar punctures in order to better target the damaged areas. Improvements Our stem cell therapy for cerebral palsy can potentially bring improvements in Motor function, Coordination, Vision, Mental Retardation, Muscular Strength, Spasticity, Epilepsy, Swallowing, Speech and more.* Following the treatment, the Fetal Stem Cells will travel throughout the body, detecting damaged cells and tissue and attempts to restore them. The Fetal Stem Cells can also stimulate existing normal cells and tissues to operate at a higher level of function, boosting the body’s own repair mechanisms to aid in the healing process. These highly adaptive cells then remain in the body, continually locating and repairing any damage they encounter.
