Our son is dynamic, loving, and lives with autism. Because of his developmental and sensory needs, he requires absolute stability, gentle care, and a completely safe environment to thrive. Tragically, he has not been safe. We have recently uncovered that our son, who is now 11 and has autism, has been physically abused while in his current guardianship care, and we are raising urgent funds to gain full custody and protect him.
Discovering that our vulnerable child has suffered physical harm has completely broken our hearts, but it has also filled us with a fierce determination to protect him. Now that he is 11 years old, it is more critical than ever that we secure a permanent environment where his voice is heard and his specialized needs are met. We are taking immediate, aggressive legal action in the family courts to secure full custody (Sole Managing Conservatorship) to ensure he is never placed in harm's way again.
My husband works tirelessly, but his entire paycheck goes directly to our mortgage and monthly utilities. Due to my own ongoing medical health issues, I am unable to work, and our family does not qualify for state assistance programs.
