Hi my name is Garrick Knight, i live with my solo mum i am a 19 year old New Zealand Maori Pakeha living in New Zealand, & currently in my last year of high school at Liston College 2014. I started playing basketball at my original high school, Henderson High, in 2011, this is where my journey began. Basketball became my life, i literally live and breath basketball, I wake up at 6 am every morning whether it's to go work on my game or hit the weights room at Liston College, i have trained for hours on end in the gym & weights room improving my game, not only do i train in the mornings but i also hit the weights room at lunch times/afterschool as well as getting shots up after school on the days when i don't have work or have one-two hours before i start work. I love playing basketball & cannot not see myself doing anything else #EatSleepBall &Gym.

My dream is to play basketball in a NCAA 1st Divion College and to make a living playing professional basketball after College. I have been accepted into the Impact Basketball Post Graduate Academy, ( http://www.impactbball.com/academy ) , this is an once in a life time opportunity & it would be greatly appreciated if you would help mum & i to raise the funds to send me to the Impact Basketball Academy because this is a necessary step to turn my dream to reality. In New Zealand without any exposure for basketball to NCAA coaches because they're half way across the world it is extremely difficult to pick up a NCAA scholarship. Impact has made my dream feel more obtainable than ever as the academy will expose me to College coaches and scouts on a regular basis giving me the exposure/opportunity to pick up a scholarship to a NCAA college.

My current goals and ambitions in life are to go to Impact Las Vegas to train with world class trainers & people who are chasing the same dreams as me, gain a scholarship into a College, & play at the highest level of basketball i can personally reach. After all the experience i gain living overseas studying, playing ball, & whether or not i make it into a professional league, i would like to return to New Zealand to help young student athletes living in New Zealand achieve their dreams of studying & playing sports overseas in a college that would suit their academic and sporting needs.

Impact has a great college placement system and has placed 80% of their players into division 1, 2 and 3 schools. I will thrive in an environment like impact because i am extremely self motivated to train on a daily basis & want to reach the next level of my game & making my dream a reality. I will be attending the impact post graduate program for 4-6 or even 7 months long, It is going to cost between $20,000-$28,000 to go, this covers everything from food, living/sleeping arrangements, impact training/game gear, & world class training facilities. I hope to raise $10,000 to $20,000 by January 2015, Mum & i cannot make this amount of money in the short time we have, i am kindly asking if you may donate to my dreams as every dollar counts & it will be deeply appreciated, if you cannot donate, could you please be so kind to share my page to your friends & family that you think will donate to my dreams :-)
