My mother has always been my source of strength. At 92 years old, she has lived a long, beautiful life — from her childhood in Jamaica to raising her family here in the United States. She taught me kindness, resilience, and the importance of caring for others.

Now, she needs me more than ever.

She is living with dementia, diabetes, and a new diagnosis of blood cancer. These illnesses have changed everything. She cannot be left alone. She needs help with daily tasks, medical appointments, and emotional comfort. I am her daughter and her caregiver, and I am committed to being by her side through every step.

But caregiving comes with challenges — especially financial ones. Our rent and utilities have become difficult to manage as her medical needs increase and my ability to work decreases. We are doing our best, but we are falling behind.

We have family in Texas who are ready to support us and help care for her, but we need help to stabilize our current living situation and prepare for the move.
