My wife and I have five amazing kids — four teenage daughters and one energetic 9-year-old son.

Like many families, we work hard just to keep up. I commute over 160 miles a day to provide for them, and most months feel like a balancing act between bills, gas, insurance, and keeping food on the table.

We don’t complain. But like many larger families, the idea of even a short vacation has always felt out of reach — let alone a cross-country trip.

But that’s what we’re hoping to do: take one unforgettable road trip across the U.S. together as a family of 7.

Nothing fancy. Just a few weeks of seeing the country, visiting national parks, walking beaches, telling stories in a rental van — and most importantly, spending time together while we still can.

The hard part? Traveling with seven people gets expensive fast.

• Affordable motels or campgrounds

• Food for a family of 7 on the road

• Gas across multiple states

We’ve planned carefully. We’re staying frugal. But even then, it’s more than we can manage on our own.

That’s why we’re asking for help.

We’re not asking for a luxury vacation — just a real chance to make memories before the kids grow up and head into their own lives. This is likely the only time we’ll ever be able to do something like this together.

Out of respect for our kids’ privacy, we’re not sharing personal photos or names — just our story and our hope.
