I set up a fundraiser to be able to get sick with dignity and recover. I suffer from Wegener's Granuloma, a rare and incurable, autoimmune disease. Treatment costs are reimbursed, but diets, supplementation, reconstruction and additional medical care costs are enormous. R econstruction prices are counted in the tens of thousands. I cannot afford to cover the costs myself. That is why I am asking for help and I hope that by helping me I will be able to fully recover. I want to live normally.
My name is Anka and I am 44 years old. Incurable optimist who loves every moment of life. Instead of walking, hovering above the ground. Unfortunately, in 2017, I heard the words: you have cancer with lymph node metastases. Shock, disbelief, fear. I did not give up, I took a fight. Radical mastectomy, 16 chemistry courses, radiotherapy and, to this day, hormone therapy. And the longed-for words: you are healthy, celebrate life!
Until February 2020, when I suddenly started to weaken. Test results - no cancer. Until the end of 2020, no one could diagnose me, and the disease began to take its toll on my life. Constant, excruciating headache, lack of strength, fatigue was my everyday life. I n February 2021, after an unnecessary sinus surgery, a doctor, who wasn't even on my case diagnosed what I had to face.
A rare, insidious, incurable disease. It is characterized by inflammation of the blood vessels, which causes them to die. I grapple with the pain every day. The disease almost made me lose my hearing. I have an exposed nose bridge, zthe rest of the nose collapses. I monitor the condition of the jaw bone on an ongoing basis, as it is also damaged. My teeth are all broken. Most of that can be reconstructed with series of surgeries. Teeth can be replaced only with special implants attached one by one to what is left of mine. A few fistulas developed in my face. Most of that can be reconstructed only by a series of surgeries and procedures. And most of these treatments are not reimbursed by my insurance.
I want to be normal again, beautiful again. I don't want to scare my youngest daughter. I want to be able to go out to people without looking at mine bandage replacing my nose. My will to fight is not the problem, I have people to live for. The problem is the financial situation. I am not able to cover all anticipated treatment bills.
