Poe had a roof over his head for many years. 

Then, suddenly he didn’t. 

As with so many pets here, he was abandoned and left to fend for himself on the streets. I would see him out and about and my heart would hurt. He was tough, but every time he saw me, he would run over and do everything he could not to let me leave him. He followed me everywhere and reveled in affection. He was not a cat that was meant to be on the streets.

I shared his story on Instagram over many weeks, and one of my animal-loving friends (animals is how we met more than a decade ago) fell head over heels in love. She asked if it was even feasible to get him to South Africa, and knowing that this would be the most wonderful home and the most dedicated family, I vowed to make a plan!  

But. It costs. A lot.
 
You guys have helped me before (some will recall Bear’s campaign) and I am so grateful. Now I am unashamedly asking for your help again. Poe is currently living in one room in my house, which is not much fun for him at all, but it’s the best I can do with a cat in the dog-filled house I live in. 

I really need help to get Poe home.
