Crafternoon ATX offers unique art experiences for children ages 5 to 11 years old. We are focused on building community, learning through play, reusing materials and making art accessible for all children.
With so many shifts and changes as we have grown, our program needs the support of the community to keep art accessible to all youth. When children are at Crafternoon, they are given the one on one guidance they need and inclusion in our group. We learn how to work together, what it means to be apart of a community and how to express ourselves creatively. The personal connection between our teachers and families are important to us and we don't plan on changing that.
Crafternoon has grown from 8 students per class to now 16 with a new classroom space in the Cherrywood neighborhood. As our numbers continue to grow, we are learning the struggles and joys of running an art, youth program. More children require more teachers and a functioning art space to operate in year round. The health and safety of our students and staff is a priority. More funding will help improve our learning space by adding extra cameras to live stream our class time for parents to access, have enough staff to check students in and out, keep our cleaning supplies stocked and cover the cost of covid tests when needed.
Our team of artists want to focus on camp programming and afterschool workshops two days a week. We depend on sign ups, but are looking into other outlets for funding to cover expenses.
Your donation will go towards:
- replenishing frequently used art supplies
- specialty art workshops
- scholarships for selected children to come to camp for free
- new web cameras
