Crafternoon ATX hasn't added a story.
Crafternoon is moving to a new art studio in East Austin!
We are excited to announce our new location!
Crafternoon ATX is moving to 1603 E 38th 1/2 St in January 2025.
This cozy space in the Cherrywood neighborhood is in dire need of love and attention to meet the Crafternoon standard for education. With your donation, we will be able to renovate the space in order to provide an optimal learning center for community.
"Location, Location, Location".
The property offers a communal kitchen, an outdoor play area and space for gardening. We are excited to collaborate with youth programs in the area, such as Spilled Milk Social Club and exchange resources that our businesses need to thrive.
Our renovation goals are:
Removing 1 non-structural wall to allow for more classroom space.
Create a wheel chair accessible bathroom.
Add an ADA compliant walk way to front entrance.
Build a new fence around front yard.
Contribution Inspiration:
- New Work Tables and Chairs - $75
- Bi-lingual Lesson Plans - $50
- Supply Storage Shelves - $150
- Tech Upgrade (new communal computer, projector, security system) - $100
Update Classroom Lighting- $80
Teacher Supply Resources- $50
Our $20,000 goal will not only help cover the cost of materials and labor for renovations, but additional costs such as permits for a new business, certifications for a new workshop and unexpected repairs or expenses we may encounter during the process.
What is our purpose in the community?
We are an earth-focused art studio, offering unique art programming to children ages 5-12. Crafternoon ATX is a safe space for kids to learn about themselves through creativity, learn how to be apart of community and care for the nature that surrounds us. Our instructors focus on teaching basic life skills through art and play.
Our studio supports artists and educators of color, indigenous instructors and herbalists, and members of the LGBTQIA+ to lead workshops and camps. Students are inspired by stories, immersed in culture and exploring the outdoors. Small camp groups allow our teachers to make personal connections with the children and their families. We want to offer the best guidance and care we can give.
As of November 2024, Crafternoon ATX is officially an AISD field trip vendor! Field trips with us consists of a 2 hour story-book inspired art workshop. Students will be led through a structured project that allows plenty of room for imagination and creative control. We are so excited to continue working with the amazing teachers of our public schools and their classes!
With the tremendous support of community, our program has evolved into something bigger than we ever expected. Gaining the approval for a larger space with more facilities, we aim to build a classroom that not only caters to children, but to other educators to use and teach older students and adults.

Testimonials
"I am mostly blown away by the effort put into the teaching and the intentional time taken to explain things to each child. The EXCITEMENT for literally every single project, whether it's a tiny fairy house made of sticks, a clay dragon eye or a magical potion filled with crystals. Camille and their team treat each creation like a true masterpiece. Crafternoon has always been an anomaly. After we attended our first class at Crafternoon... we told all of our friends! Crafternoon has thus become a community spot of sorts. There's always going to be a familiar face at drop off or pick up. At our elementary school before a randomly scheduled day off school, us parents depart with, "See you at Crafternoon tomorrow!" A major draw is that somehow there's usually a spot available. So whether we've just hung out with a friend or if we're coming off a sleepover, we can suggest they join us, even with short notice. As a parent that loses sleep over those stressful, cut-throat camp sign ups this is so so appreciated. It's casual, welcoming and I always know that whomever I recommend to Crafternoon, Camille is going to embrace them as though they're a regular! I also have noticed a very-welcomed inclusivity arise within my boys. The fact that every person is welcome, regardless of gender, race, religion, sexual orientation, etc. In this world of divisiveness, Crafternoon truly is a haven. Camille and their team are doing amazing things in that space... not all related to art!"

"I have had the pleasure of working with our neighbors at Crafternoon ATX as the Creative Learning Initiative Lead at Ridgetop Elementary. We have successfully partnered on multiple arts experiences during the '23-'24 school year. Working with Crafternoon has been a dream. I consistently receive very positive feedback from both students and teachers who attend programming at Crafternoon. Having worked with multiple arts partners in the community, Crafternoon stands out as delivering a high quality program that engages all learners. This is a wonderful introduction to the arts for our youngest learners. Teachers benefit from seeing examples of ways to integrate the arts into their curriculum and provide another way for our diverse learners to connect with classroom learning. We're so fortunate to have this wonderful arts partnership in the Ridgetop community."
Sarah, Learning Initiative Lead

"I wholeheartedly endorse the Crafternoon program
and its incredible team. I have been a satisfied parent for the
past
three years and have witnessed firsthand the positive impact
Crafternoon has had on my children.
Camille and her team have created an exceptional after-school
and camp program that fosters creativity, critical thinking, and a
strong sense of community. My children have not only developed
their artistic abilities but have also grown into confident,
empathetic, and resilient individuals.
Crafternoon has been a valuable asset to the Ridgetop community,
building strong relationships with both the school and parents.
Camille and her team are truly remarkable individuals who create
a nurturing and inspiring environment for children. "
Lauren, Parent.
