Karty’s life began in fear and cold. He was just a tiny pup when he was found alone by the roadside, trembling, injured, and fighting for every breath after being struck by a car. His little body was exhausted, and one front paw was so badly damaged that he had lost all of his toes. The wound was infected, inflamed, and causing him unimaginable pain — yet still, he held on.

When he arrived at our 24/7 Kabul clinic, he finally found what he had been desperately searching for: safety, warmth, and gentle hands that refused to give up on him. Day after day, he received the medical care he needed from our dedicated team and slowly, this brave boy began to heal. Despite everything he had endured, Karty’s spirit never dimmed. He learned to adapt, using the lower part of his paw with determination that humbled everyone who met him.

And then, something wonderful happened….. A loving family — still grieving the loss of their beloved older Nowzad rescue — opened their hearts to him. They saw not a dog with a difficult past, but a soul full of love, joy, and promise. Karty will soon be bringing laughter back into their home, joining them on peaceful countryside walks, and curling up by a warm fire where he will finally know what it means to be safe.

This gentle, vulnerable boy has survived more than any pup should. Now he has the chance to live the life he always deserved — one filled with kindness, comfort, and love.
