Almaya Fund – Empowering Weavers and Their Families
While Trama Textiles has worked to provide fair wages to its cooperative members, many indigenous families in the Western Highlands continue to face extreme poverty, with limited access to education and few opportunities to break the cycle of hardship.
To address these challenges, Trama Textiles created the Almaya Fund, a program dedicated to supporting the children of our weavers and their families, with a special focus on empowering women. Each year, we carefully study the needs of the community—listening to families, understanding their challenges, and deciding how best to provide meaningful support.
Through the Almaya Fund, we focus on ensuring every child has the chance to go to school, access necessary supplies, and pursue a brighter future. At the same time, we support the weavers directly, helping with essential materials, administrative costs, and urgent necessities when needed.

Scholarships and School Supplies – Help children in Primary, Basico and Diversificado (middle and high school) attend school, thrive academically, and continue their educational journey.

A one-time gift of $200, or a monthly contribution of $17, sponsors a child’s education for the entire year.

Smaller donations, like $10 per month, can help contribute toward a child’s education and encourage parents to continue investing in their children’s future.

Sponsors can choose to connect with a specific student who has expressed interest in correspondence. You’ll receive letters, videos, and photos facilitated by Trama Textiles — creating a truly personal connection to the impact you’re making.
