My meals for the day! I should add that I had a banana before bed as I was hungry and wanted to make sure I was able to sleep. But I only have two bananas left for the week. Also, I drank a lot of water as it is considered free. I am a huge tea person so I really missed my morning tea and herbal teas throughout the day.
As you can tell from the photos there is really no colour to the food (other than the carrots and beans) which speaks to the lack of nutrients my body is receiving.
Everything also tasted really bland (no flavour) as I didn't have the budget for any spices or sauces.
I really hope this experience shows people what a large portion of this world goes through each day. A lot of them probably don't even get as much food as I have photographed. And for them, it doesn't matter what food they are eating or what it tastes like, as long as it is something.
I am looking forward to the week being over, but that isn't the reality for the families and communities that live in poverty.
