Seacology’s mission is to protect threatened island ecosystems all
over the world. We do that by working directly with communities,
helping them to preserve their cultures and improve their lives while
saving precious island habitats.

Islands are home to unique plant and animal species–and if they disappear from an island, they are lost to the entire world forever.

Key Ecosystems
Our work protects many kinds of island habitat, but recently more of our projects have focused on three key ecosystems: mangroves, peatlands, and seagrass.
