Noontime Concerts provides an accessible means for the public to experience free presentations of high-quality live classical musical performances. We support promising local and international artists. We recognize diversity, equity, and inclusion as core institutional values that drive decision-making, resource allocation, educational outreach, and the development of all policies and practices.
For 35 years Noontime Concerts has presented weekly free midday classical music concerts performed by world-class musicians in an acoustically exceptional setting. No other local music presenters are matching this quantity and consistency of free high-quality performances. We are fully committed to sustaining the future of live classical music in the San Francisco Bay Area and to serving all communities with opportunities to experience world-class music presentations.
Our weekly concerts provide an intimate exchange between musicians and audience members that at times are positively electrifying. Our audiences are often brought to their feet cheering with enthusiasm for what they have just experienced. After the performances the audience members have the opportunity to meet with the musicians and those exchanges fuel the ongoing enthusiasm from both artists and audience members for Noontime Concerts' programs.
The concert series is carefully curated by an enthusiastic executive director, 2 artistic advisors, and an artistic advisory council who consider historical focus, cultural diversity, thematic programming, potential collaborations, emerging talent, communities being served, and taking calculated risks to offer something new.
In 2001 Noontime Concerts launched the emerging artists series. Four times per year we provide scholarship-based live performance opportunities for gifted and talented young musicians who are at the threshold of amazing careers.
All of our live audience concerts are also streamed for a global virtual audience. The program streams are also post-produced as 4-K high-fidelity audio-visual productions and made available in our concert library.
