We are a group of music enthusiasts and music lovers who have come together to help raise awareness of the healing powers of music. Music Heals Charitable Foundation supports a wide range of music therapy services to communities in BC and across Canada. We increase access to music therapy for patients in children’s hospitals, senior’s centres, palliative care, AIDS & HIV programs, at-risk youth, habilitation, and bereavement support.
Music Heals is founded on a belief of the healing power of music, and is one of only two charitable organizations in Canada whose sole focus is music therapy.
Music Heals is a not-for-profit society incorporated in British Columbia and a registered Canadian charitable foundation.
Music Heals works in cooperation with accredited music therapists across the country to increase their impact in diverse facilities including Indigenous agencies, women's shelters, children's hospitals, palliative care homes, rehabilitation centres, schools, and more. Currently, 41% of Music Heal's initiatives serve seniors, 37% of initiatives serve children and youth, and 22% of initiatives serve adults.
Since 2012, Music Heals has supported music therapy initiatives at 55 facilities across the country, helped provide over 29,000 total hours of music therapy, and donated $1.3 million for Canadians in-need.
