The Media Literacy Coalition provides education through special events and an annual meeting for high school students in partnership with the University of Washington's Center for an Informed Public. These programs center around the threat of misinformation that could affect critical decisions citizens express through their votes, or health decisions parents make for themselves and their children, or in actions based upon misinformation that could result in civil disruption.
We collaborate with experts in the fields of media and news literacy to bring our audiences the most useful methods by which they can discern fact from propaganda. We provide a wealth of educational materials on our website, hold events for students and adults that provide useful insights into how media literacy affects important aspects of citizenship. Every individual who participates in our programs, every person who helps fund our activities, will reap the benefits of a society based on fact.
