La MaMa Umbria International is the Italian headquarter of La MaMa Experimental Theatre Club of NYC. Founded in 1990 by theatre pioneer Ellen Stewart, La MaMa Umbria is an Artistic Residency and a Performing Arts and Study Center based in Italy, among the green hills of the town of Spoleto (Umbria). 

La MaMa Umbria is the home of artists and performing arts, where there's a cross-pollination between artists, the development, and experimentation of creative languages also related to new digital technologies. It's a place and a time for encounter and knowledge, protected, vital for the survival and development of present theater, to promote meeting, study, discovery, and psychophysical well-being.
