The Story of the Great Parenting Simplified Movement
The roots for this wonderful grassroots movement with over 40,000
parents and caregivers who’ve signed up from over 101 countries,
were sown in the year before I took my 2 little kids, then almost
1 and 3, to a women’s shelter in a tiny town in the middle of the
Great White North.
Watch my (Jacqueline’s) video below to
hear the story…
Organization activity
Nothing to show yet.Today marks #GivingTuesday, a day when charities, not for profits, families, businesses, communities and students around the world come together for one common purpose, to celebrate generosity and to give.
Great Parenting Simplified, GPS, is an international non-profit organisation that has helped over 40,000 parents and caregivers in over 100 countries over the past 10 years.
Today we want to raise $6,000 to help 200 hundred families. #BuildtheVillage

If you have already given a gift to our appeal, thank you. Thank you in advance,

Grandparents/extended villagers challenge! Regardless of how the US election is resolved, and other challenges that we face, families are going to continue to be THE most important thing for most people. For our last official week of the crowdfund, we have a grandparents challenge. (We will leave it open for the service clubs to participate in, and the official end is on Sunday!) Do you see your children or other parents struggling with parenting in the pandemic? Would you like to help but are unsure of how to support them during these uber challenging times? You have never been more needed as part of the extended village helping families. Your support will make a big difference right now in the lives of kids who are struggling. Please share our message, donate or simply learn more by clicking on the "Click to go to our Campaign Page" button below. After you donate, you can designate your children and grandchildren as the beneficiaries. You can also share this message and the link with your friends/all the grandparents you know so that they too can support their children if they sense they are struggling or can support the broader village. Click to go to Our Campaign Page Thanks so much for being on this team! This work matters even more in these uncertain times. Family is forever, and is meant to be a place to retreat to in crazy times. When we support parents, we can have way more leverage and impact than when we only focus directly on kids. xoxo, Jacqueline

We did a short panel for Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Thanks to everyone who has donated, commented and/or shared this campaign to help us help more kids and adults who are in this painful situation. https://vimeo.com/472735759

Woo hoo!!!!!!!!!! Thanks to you, we are just over $500 short from our interim goal of raising $7500! "Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has." ~ Margaret Mead Did you realize that we are on the home stretch in terms of the crowdfund?! We have less than 2 weeks left. Deadlines are often what gets people to take action, so I expect we'll keep seeing more momentum. (If you are in the States, my hope is that this will be a welcome distraction to your election.) I made a short video for you! Fyi, momentum continues to grow in the background as well! We are getting more bookings to speak to service clubs, more discussions with companies, and various people are connecting with individual philanthropists. (I'm meeting with a philanthropist tomorrow:). ) - Media We got some press, including radio and print, which is great! Equally important is contacts were made, which is super helpful. If you got some contact info for local media, please send me the info so I can add it to our list for next time we reach out to them. Want to help (more)? Your mission choices, if you are willing and able to accept: - Joining in team celebrations! A core GPS value is to celebrate all steps in the right direction. When and if you can, please: - Comment, like and/or share the posts on this Fundrazr page! (See image below to see what I mean). - When you share to FB, it's great if you can add 1-2 lines about how GPS has helped you, if applicable. - People often need to see something 7 to 11 times before they make a decision. So if you share a few updates like these about recent donations, it helps your friends and family to get their heads around what you are talking about! - It's great to share on LinkedIn and Twitter too! - Tag others from GPS when you share, so we can be the village supporting a village!! I'd be happy to be tagged every time. Btw, you can share any post, including this one, by looking below the words. - Challenge for Domestic Violence Awareness month One way to inspire friends and family to donate is to challenge them! October is Domestic Violence Awareness month in Canada, the US, and the UK. If you have donated, you can go to your post and share your post on social media. Otherwise share any one of the posts below this one with donations. Add a note something like: "I'm challenging you to donate to support Domestic Violence Awareness month. Proceeds will go towards spreading awareness and/or direct help to families affected by interpersonal violence." FYI, the women's shelter that I stayed in wants me to come in to do a presentation for them. Funds raised from the challenge will be used to support this initiative and others like it. If you know of someone at a women's shelter, I'd love an introduction! I am honored to be able to be uniquely inspiring for people in abusive situations, and because I'm a parenting educator, some shelters may use me as a innocuous way of reaching their potential audience. This is one of many initiatives that is gaining traction. We've also been starting to talk to parent or school councils. If you are inspired to donate (again) like Kelly Walker, you'll be given the chance to email your friends and family directly as part of the donation process. Otherwise you can send our main link (https://fundrazr.com/GPS-2020-2H) in an email. Multiple donations add to the activity on the Fundrazr page, so are super appreciated, even if they are tiny, (which Kelly's wasn't!!). - Next meeting Thursday Oct 29th at 10 am PT! I was remiss in not starting the last meeting with a short dance party! That is now top of the agenda! Xoxo
Fun updates and a HUGE thank you to you for donating and/or sharing about our movement! We are VERY close to reaching 10% of our crowdfunding goal. That's a great milestone. It's been delightful seeing over 40 people contribute to date! Momentum continues to grow in the background... We have more bookings coming in for service clubs which is great! I've attached the image that's being used to promote an appearance with a Rotary club (feel free to share this with companies or service clubs you know that may want me to zoom in, perhaps with you?). I also have meetings with a private philanthropist and we are pursuing two companies who are interested. We've had some media interest too which is helpful! With our initial momentum, we will attract more interest too from others. We've had over 120 shares on Facebook for example, which is great from a social proof point of view. Please keep sharing, as many people click on links even if they don't comment, and it often takes a number of interactions before someone decides to make a donation. Two quick announcments: 1. Want to hear more about the action behind the scenes and/or to help us to reach more families? We will be having a donor/spokesperson's meeting this Friday Oct 23 at 1 pm PT, for about 30 minutes. Come for as long or little as you can, and be on video or not! You can even call in if that's best for your busy schedule. (Find out what time that is for you here: https://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/converter.html). We'll be sending the zoom link to you via email before the meeting tomorrow, if you are one of the donors. Please email me at JRG@greatparentingsimplified.com if you have questions and/or don't get the email. 2. You the amongst the very first to hear that we will have our first official GPS Nonprofit Cooperative meeting on Nov 2 at 12:30 pm PT! That's VERY exciting, and is a big hairy deal! If you'd like to watch the recording of our organization meeting today, please let me know! (The timing is because the official paperwork for our Sept 23, 2020 incorporation as a nonprofit corporation finally arrived). We'll be letting you know soon what the qualifications are to be a member, and what all is involved. Thank you SOOOOOO much for your support! Whatever way you've been able to support this crucial movement is much appreciated. We've seen a number of repeat donations now, which is super appreciated too. The sheer quantity of donations are very helpful, so please know that your donations are super appreciated, whatever the amount is! We'll be talking about a fun challenge that you can be involved in next week, to get more of our friends, family and community members involved, while spreading the word about the help that we are able to offer. We are the wind beneath each others wings. At a meeting this morning I was saying that this is a bit like La Leche Leaugue combined with an education company like a college that has programs to offer for fee. We will continue to grow our free support, while offering more extensive leadership training for the parents and caregivers who want and/or are clear they need it. You are being the change, and it is deeply appreciated! Xoxoxo Jacqueline Green, founder of the Great Parenting Simplified Nonprofit Cooperative (I think I'm going to frame that document!!!!!) PS. The picture of the certification of incorporation is below as well as the photo of the image being used to promote one of my Rotary appearances!

Jacqueline our founder was interviewed on the radio about our recent survey that showed a third of all parents are struggling due to the additional stresses of COVID. GPS has been a huge support in my life since being apart of it for the last 2 years or so. It is more than just another group to join, it is like being adopted into a family!

Press Release has gone out, yay! If you know any media who would be interested in picking up a story about Parenting in a Pandemic, and to understand the movement to support parents and caregivers in this time of crisis, please message us. Thank you for your support even before we launched the campaign, we've raised nearly $1,000 already. Our ask now, please share the campaign, please talk about the movement, please let parents who are struggling know they are not alone and that we value everything they are doing, and if you can, donate, so that more parents can access the practical support that they need. #PandemicParenting Here's the link to the press release.https://www.einpresswire.com/article/526869886/pandemic-parenting-is-causing-additional-stress-to-families-a-global-movement-will-provide-additional-support?r=pacpCy3bT6LNhLjS3c Thank you again, this movement is so needed at this time, we need parents to know they are not alone, we are here for them.
So pleased to have shared this campaign with my wonderful friends and family and I'm excited to see the contributions coming in already..
